You’ll learn about the living microorganisms in your pet’s gut through an in-depth analysis along with a personalized report and dietary changes and supplements suggestions to help bring your pet back into balance.

  • Recommendation are backed by science and unique to your dog
  • Our pets have a microbiome that is home to thousands of microbes, with links to immune function, energy and nutrient availability.
  • DNA sequencing allow us to accurately pinpoint levels of all the good and bad gut microbes and make personalised recommendations on how best to increase or reduce them through dietary changes.
  • Good gut bacteria such as eubacteria, roseburia and clostridiales, help to form a barrier against invasion from pathogenic bacteria, the barrier is called the ‘Resistome’. Many of our pets have low levels of these good gut bacteria.

Here are some of the amazing things we can see with next generation sequencing

  • Microbiome ability to process nutrients in foods like vegetables, cereal and legumes.
  • If your pet’s microbes are not able to digest the amount of protein their are eating.
  • Your pet’s flatulence odour
  • If the diet you’re feeding your pet is contributing to inflammation and allergies
  • Identifying specific microbes that can affect your pet’s behaviour
  • If their diet is promoting the growth of potential pathogens (disease-causing bacteria) like E.coli and Salmonella.
  • Your pet’s metabolism status
  • Their gut wall integrity

Your pet’s biome is a community of micro-organisms, consisting of a mixture of the good (host friendly), the bad (linked to disease), and the not so bad (don’t do any harm but don’t contribute to good nutrition). This community is influenced by many factors including the breed of your dog, his age and the food he eats. Although a high percentage of bacteria contribute towards your pet’s health, some are pathogenic and if there is an overgrowth of these bad bacteria, they can have harmful effects.

It is important to maintain the right balance between the beneficial and not so bad bacteria. The balance can alter through stress, the use of medications and with a change in diet. Some imbalances may show as gastrointestinal discomfort and other imbalance show as allergies, diarrhea or poor gastrointestinal health. Bacteria have jobs to do and contributions to make, some provide energy, vitamins and help to make nutrients, such as carbohydrates, more available. Other microbes interact with the immune, endocrine, nervous system and brain.

Gut microbiome changes with diet, medication, stress and disease. Scientists now understand the critical role gut health plays in stress as well as a huge range of chronic disease.

We believe applying revolutionary technologies to predict, prevent and reverse these conditions using food, prebiotics and probiotics as medicine.

Certain microbes produce metabolites that are pro-inflammatory or can trigger the immune system to be more reactive and exacerbate allergic skin disease or skin inflammation.

Identifying the presents of such microbes give us an opportunity to change their number by adjusting the diet or using prebiotic and probiotic supplements.

Digestive Problems

Appetite level, Tummy upsets, excess gas, chronic diarrhoea, inflammatory bowel disease and many more have been associated with dramatic changes to the gut microbe populations. The gut protective barriers and mucous lining has been associated with high numbers of “good” bacteria.

Learning about the microbial population that make up your dog’s gut biome can provide insights to better management of these conditions.

Behaviour Problems

If you think the brain is doing most of the talking, think again. It turns out the microbiome has a lot to say. Through the use of neurotransmitters, hormones, proteins, and other communication factors, your dog’s gut can send messages directly to their brain. Their microbes influence how they feel and affect their emotions. Studies have linked the composition of the gut microbiome with several behavioural and psychological conditions in animals such as aggression, anxiety and even depression and hyperactivity such as ADAD in people.

Identifying specific microbes that have been linked to behavioural issues will be highlighted in your report along with dietary o supplement suggestions where appropriate.

Stress & Health

Gut microbiome changes with diet, medication, stress and disease. Scientists now understand the critical role gut health plays in stress as well as a huge range of chronic disease.

We believe applying revolutionary technologies to predict, prevent and reverse these conditions using food, prebiotics and probiotics as medicine.
