What is the best age to desex puppies?

Hi Dr Simon, what is the youngest age you recommend for desexing puppies?

Dr Simon responds:
Hi Cheyenne, thank you for your question. I would recommend desexing your puppy from the ages of 6-9 months. At these ages, your dog is at a bigger and better size for it to cope with the operation, the anaesthetic and the recovery. It's also good to note that at these ages, it won't make any difference to your dog's behaviour.
Thanks again, Dr Simon.
