Would you get a "FLEA FINE" ?

When was the last time you checked your pet for fleas?

Do you treat year round for fleas?

After reading this recent article from news.com.au you might want to be that extra bit careful!

The RSPCA is seeking the power to issue infringement notices that would mean your dog’s fleas could earn you an on-the-spot fine for low level animal cruelty.

“Infringements could provide incentive for people to do the right thing, just like speeding and public transport fines. This could really make a big difference in then allowing our inspectors to focus on more complex cruelty cases.”

"If RSPCA Victoria was granted the authority to issue fines, they would seek to apply them where an animal was found to be provided with insufficient water on a particularly hot day, for example. Another example provided by the RSPCA would be where an animal was seized because it has an ongoing skin condition caused by fleas and the best outcome for the animal would be rehabilitation and rehoming."

Due to the increasing climate temperature associated with Global Warming, fleas are best to be treated year round to prevent infestations and nasty skin problems as even our Winter months are not keeping them away from our homes and pets. Our favourite products are Comfortis, Bravecto, Nexgard and Advocate.
